Taste Test: Fōnuts | Los Angeles, CA Yeah, go ahead and rub your eyes, but that’s not going to change the fact that that is indeed bacon on a maple flavored donut. Ok, so they’re shaped like donuts, the only difference is that they’re baked instead of fried. But in my opinion they are less like a donut and more like a tiny round cake or muffin. Kind of rich and dense. The cinnamon sugar one was pretty tasty. And the shop itself is adorable. Other flavor options are: banana chocolate, peach, lemon, strawberry buttermilk, rosemary olive oil, peanut butter and jelly, hawaiian, chorizo cheddar, and salted caramel. Kind of unimpressed. Might be worth checking out just for the unique flavors and vegan/gluten-free options, but I gotta be honest, I’ll probably stick with my ho-hum normal people donut.
