I feel like I’ve been disconnected from the world the last 3 weeks. Prior to last night, the last time I had posted anything on here was the day I put my furniture up for sale, which by the way, took me a whole hour to sale after I posted it on my building’s elevator.
So I started moving 2 days before Christmas, which probably wasn’t the best idea, but I really had no choice on the timing, the last thing I wanted to do on New Years Eve and New Years day was move.
Besides, I’ve realized that being away from family during the holidays takes the fun out of Christmas, I am pretty sure Lucy and I will make the trip back home next year, and this time I have made sure that my lease doesn’t come up during December.
You would think that after selling all of our furniture, it would be a whole lot easier to move, however the first thing I recall doing after selling everything was taking the streetcar down to the Pearl to check out a new sofa sectional I had been eyeballing online. I didn’t take that sofa after all but I did end up buying another one, one that would fit the feel/look of our new place. And of course that wasn’t easy, because once I decided to go with a more modern-less bulky feel to the apartment (keep in mind its a studio), I tried it out for about 24 hours… and completely hated it all!!
So I took it all back the next day and ended up buying up something very similar to what I had in my old apartment… Yes twice the work!
So anyhow, to make a long story short, we downsized to a studio with a great lay out and an amazing floor to ceiling view that I seem to fall in love with every day I wake up.
We went from 875sq ft to 557sq ft, including a large balcony, which takes about 75 of those 557sq ft, which meant I had to get a storage unit just to fit most of our kitchen equipment alone, lucky for us our building offers a parking space with storage for a little extra charge… so it all kinda worked out.
And now… now I am living next to all the major museums and theaters along Park & Broadway Ave, which is too great to try and put into words.
So come visit sometime.
